CLASS SIZE: Min 2 / Maximum 10
DAY OF OPERATION: Selected Sundays
TIME: 3PM to 5PM (2 hours) Please arrive 15 minutes before the workshop commences to ensure we start on time.
LOCATION: Black Door Photography Studio, 3 / 19-25 Wellington Street, Chippendale, Sydney 2008
Suitability:
People who have completed 'Photography 1: Get to Know Your DSLR' and 'Photography 2: From AUTO to MANUAL' or those who already have a working knowledge of their camera and use of settings.
The Workshop:
Using your 'on camera' flash in photography can produce a variety of vibrant and strong imagery. Learning the 'in’s' and 'out’s' of your flash will assist you in creating well-exposed shots in any lighting condition. Learn why you don’t only use your flash in low light...
We explore the number one 'on camera' flash technique - how to use bounce flash to its best advantage and how to create different lighting effects with this process.
This workshop explores how to combine your camera controls with your flash output. When to use TTL mode and how to set your flash on manual. Again this gives you control of the final image rather than your camera and flash deciding on the outcome.
We also look at how to use your flash to create varied special effects that will enhance your images - such as using high speed sync settings and gels.
We will use flash to capture movement in long and fast shutter settings. Learn how to balance ambient light with flash to achieve a sense of atmosphere and mood in your pictures.
Learn what shutter speeds work best for most environments including outdoors and at night. We will also show you when to use second curtain flash technics and the effects they produce.
This course will not only allow you to develop creative photographic techniques, but will generally help you master photography in ways you never imagined. You'll wonder how you every survived without a flash in the past...
